Jay-Z is my favorite rapper! and I'ma go ahead and say that he is the BEST rapper of all-time. I can't relate to rakim, KRS, Kane and countless others that ever one says, like I and a lot of my generation can relate to Jay. He to this day he is still ripping apart tracks left and right.
He is on top of the world, and an Icon in the black community. But my question is does he feel like no one can touch him?
I've had the argument that Jay is better then Wayne with a million people. and I feel that he really think that Wayne isn't and won't ever be on his level. So who could this man possible feel threatened by.....
Kanye West! Yes that's Jay-Z's biggest threat in his mind to me. Now I'm not say that 'Ye is a threat at all. The actions of Jay-Z have led me to think this crazy thought.
"Males shouldn't be jealous that's a female trait/ what you mad 'cause you push dimes and he sell weight"
But what triggered this. Well I was listen to my ipod before class and a lyric that popped out to me immediately set it all in motion.
"I told Jay I did a song with Coldplay/ next thing I know he got a song with Coldplay"
So I started thinking did Jay swagger jack from Kanye. He most definitely did. Why would he do this though? Is he jealous of Kanye statue? He is on the fast track to becoming one of the only rappers to become one of most important acts in the history of music. A title that was suppose to go to Jay-Z. Both are musical geniuses. No doubt about that. What Jay lacks in production efforts Kanye picks up, and what Kanye lacks in lyrical content and flowJay has is covered. I think thats why when the Roc-a-fella split happened they both decided to stick with each other. They are the Kobe and Shaq of hip-hop when they are put together.
So what actions did Jay-Z take to make me think he feels Kanye is such a threat? Well, really its only one action. He has hopped on a lot of record that Kayne has been on for the last couple of year and has completely torn them apart. American Boy, Go Hard, Put On, Swagger, Diamonds and soooooooo many others.
He is obviously trying to show everyone that "whatever he can do, I can do better." There is no doubt that Jay-Z verses rip Kanye's to pieces. I think everyone knows that.
All I got to say is let the little homie breathe Hov. You made this man do a auto-tune album so that he can have something of his own for now. And that ain't right. Hahaha.
